A very successfully weekend
--- I’m back. I apologize for such a long time between posts. Last week I had internet issues and was unable to post. Plus I was kind of busy. :) ---
I had a wonderful weekend. It started Thursday when I left work and drove to Tennessee to spend the evening relaxing with my friends, Sam and Hollie. Sam and I pledged our fraternity together and have stayed in touch over the years. Friday morning we all hopped in the automobile and headed off to Atlanta to visit Dave, Rena, Emma and Sara. Dave also pledged with Sam and me and Rena was at school the same time so we know her from the university daze. Emma and Sara are their beautiful children.
Dave, Sam and I got to be very good friends while in college. We stayed in touch initially after they left but I slowly let Dave and Rena disappear from my life. I saw them briefly several years ago but again did not stay in touch. Well, one of my New Years resolutions this year was to change that and this trip was the result. Hopefully it will be the (re)beginning of a beautiful friendship.
We were able to spend all Saturday and Sunday playing with the kids and catching up on our lives in progress. This was a very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable way to pass time. Of course the best thing about kids is playing with their toys. (Yes, I did play nice and share.) We made bracelets, re-engineered their wooden train set, build a castle out of blocks, read Dr Suess, walked in the rain, played childrens monopoly (I lost miserably), played Scrambled States of America, in house hide and seek, etc…. Probably my favorite thing, next to getting them to run circles around the living room while I counted laps, was playing with the magnetic sticks. They are way cool. And what else? Oh yeah, I talked with the adults too.
Monday with sad hearts Sam, Hollie and I piled back into the vehicle and started the long trek home, I shall return. I had a wonderful visit, the kids were so much fun, catching up with Sam and Rena was great and I always enjoy hangin with my peeps, Sam and Hollie. Life is good and I am happy.
PS. Grass is finally growing in the bare spots where I did not rake my leaves last fall. (Lesson learned there.) I had tossed down seeds but neglected to break up the ground as instructed so I was not really expecting much. I guess you don’t really have to break up the ground. :)
