BP is my friend, yeah right

So I don’t usually like to burn bridges but I have come to the conclusion that BearingPoint (BP) sucks. Ok, to be fair BP is a huge company and I am sure there are good parts to it. Of course we did not start off our relationship well when I heard they are possibly heading into bankruptcy and that they are now under investigation by the SEC. So far they have done nothing to make me want to work with them. Sadly I am sure our paths will cross again.

I did not want to waste Virtual-IT’s time so I let them know that I am not interested in staying on. It was not really prudent to make that decision without having another job lined up but I really can not stay there any longer. I feel so much more at peace having made that decision and can hardly wait for the day I walk out the door for the last time.* So I will be unemployed come October 1st. Anyone hiring? I hear they have really good jobs in Iraq. :) When does the fishing season start in Alaska?

Hopefully the next post will be back to my more upbeat view of life. On the upside this week: I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and got a copy of The Half-Blood Prince. In between I decided to reread The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. What a truly great book. I am also painting my guest bathroom or will be when I get it all ready. I have not been able to make much progress but I did some work on it this past weekend. The original plan was to have it done by this coming weekend; oh well. I am preparing myself for the New River Challenge this Saturday. As most of you know that does not mean I am doing any actual physical training. Instead I am getting ready mentally. (Must remember to pack some Guinness**) It should be interesting.

Well, time for bed. Good night.

* There is a chance this statement may come back to haunt me. But that is for a later blog. All in good time.

** For after the race of course.

Congratulations on making a decision. If you move to Alaska, I would come visit.

There may be great jobs in Iraq, but we'd be more likely to visit you in Alaska...

There's at least one marathon in Alaska - a friend of mine did it this year.
