Bball – flying solo

I had to coach practice all by myself tonight while the real coach, Jilian, was out in Vegas smoozin, boozin and cruisin. Ok, actually she was out there for work but that doesn’t sound as cool. I was hoping Robert’s older sister would be there to help me but she bailed on me also. I was beginning to think that I wanted to have a child of my own but then I went to practice. Ok, so it wasn’t actually that bad. They were wound up again and hard to keep control of but I managed to get them to work on their passing through some creative games. I am pretty proud of myself even though one of them did get a bloody lip. Oooops. It is frustrating because I think their failures to learn are really our failure in ability to know how to really work with them. They have so much potential. (SIGH)

Two stars go to Alex L because he is one of the best, if not the best, players we have. When we scrimmaged the other team that practices at the same time I asked him to always pass the ball instead of shooting and he did it. He was awesome. Austin gets a star because randomly during practice he decides to tell me that he ate a pickle today. Zachary gets a star because he is a 4th grader dating a 7th grader. :) Robert gets a star because he is my favorite.

After practice it was straight home to a Guinness...... or two.
