Sonoma Diet

So Lorree says to me that we are going on the Sonoma diet and I think, “Great!! I love wine.” Well apparently sharing a valley name is about all that the diet and the major export of said valley have in common. (SIGH) Oh well.

Apparently, it is a Mediterranean type of diet and starts with a ten day cleansing period during with you can have no sugar. Hence no wine or other fruits etc…. After the ten days you can start to phase those things back into your eating. (I look forward to that phase.) Then after you reach your target weight the diet changes again to a maintenance plan. I am looking forward to this; I think it will be good for me.

As you know I like to prepare for things so this past weekend in preparation for this endeavor we ate like kings. We had sushi, bacon, steak, fries, tempura, French toast, strawberries with whipped cream, Chinese, etc… Not all together mind you. After all what's a few more pounds to lose.

So far so good, for breakfast we had scrambled eggs and whole wheat pita. For lunch a delicious salad with plenty of baby spinach, grape tomatoes, goat cheese, cucumbers, onions and shrimp. We are having lamb something for dinner. (I like lamb) So I think that I am going to like this diet. We’ll see though; I keep eyeing the bowl of M&Ms.

I’ll let you know how it turns out.

To ensure success on this diet - I think you should give away the bowl of M&M's :)

Told you that you are going on the diet? Are you sure that is an accurate statement?
