Yoga, Opera and other fun things

I feel bad that I have not blogged in so long. Last week was actually a good week but there was no singular event to blog about.

Work turned out to be a lot of fun as things have settled down and now a lot of what is happening is comical. I share an office with a wonderful gentleman named Matt who is also leaving at the end of this week and lately we have been laughing often at the antics performed by Bearing Point.

Saturday I got up and had a nice 16mile run with Michelle. It was a good run and I think we did ok. She has suckered me into the Richmond marathon in November; I think that we will be ready.

Unfortunately Robert could not make the football game so I offered his ticket to Matt who had not been to a Tech game before. (This is how I hooked Robert last year.) I missed the game last week so this was my first time in our new seats which are about five rows back from the field at one end zone. It would be nice if they were centered but I like them. There is even a picture of us on Beamerball.com. I think Matt had a good time but I am not sure if he’ll be buying season tickets next year. We’ll see.

Sunday I went to see the opera La traviata in Roanoke. It was a wonderfully enjoyable performance but there was one drawback. The lead male character’s name was Alfredo and so as the opera progressed we got hungry for Italian food. So on the way home we were forced to have dinner at Zeppoli’s. It was a tough thing to do but sometimes one has to sacrifice. :) As usual the meal was excellent.

Tonight I made it to yoga for the first time in several weeks and I am glad that I went. We started by pairing up and doing some stretches with a little massage worked in. I almost fell asleep during this portion because I felt so good. Then we continued on with the usual contortions. That is not how we usually start but it really helped me to relax. Yoga is such as calm way to exercise.

Life is good.
