End of a chapter, beginning of the next
Well yesterday was the day. I did what little work I could do, got my accounts turned off, turned in my badges, debriefed, and then strolled out of the bunker into the sunshine and a new life. As I drove off I hit play the CD player and listened to this song.
In really more important news my right knee seems to have finally healed. Ever since the Century ride over a month ago when I ride my bicycle my right knee hurts. Matt wanted to do one more ride on the base before leaving so yesterday morning we decided to go. I wanted to do it too and figured that I would give my knee one more test before seeing the doctor on Monday. As it turned out it was a wonderful ride and my knee did not bother me at all. So I guess when I see the doc I’ll have him look at my other knee. :)
After leaving work I ran a few errands and then off I went to the Rivermill. As the afternoon progressed people slowly trickled in. At our largest we must have had at least thirty or more people playing pool and milling around. By the end I was pretty drunk. I don’t think it was so much the Guinness I drank as it was the shots but I had a really good time.
Fortunately Michael was kind enough to drive me home. Unfortunately I woke up this morning at 6am and could not get back to sleep. Now I have to bicycle over to town to get my car so I can drive to Roanoke to get Sam to drive to DC this morning for the Army Ten Miler tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Grats!
In the stories I've heard you were 'impressively' drunk. I'm sorry I missed the party! Glad you're free!
Love the song! Sorry I missed out on the party - we'll have to have a mini-celebration with Jilian sometime...
