Update

I took Mia to the vet yesterday to get her checked out. She was very well behaved barely noticing the cats but a little excited with some of the other dogs. She was great with the doctor; very calm and relaxed taking a brief nap while we were waiting in the exam room. We got her a round of shots, flee killer and some heartworm medication. Their guess is that she is just under a year old and looking pretty healthy. Everyone seems to agree she looks like a shepherd husky mix.

Last night we had Lorree’s aunt and uncle over for dinner and ate out on the porch. Mia was great not begging for food or disrupting us at all. Her temperament is wonderful and she is cute as can be. I am not 100% sold on Mia as the name but I do like it and want to try it out for a while.

One side benefit is that she gives Ian some fun. For now we are still keeping her outside but Lorree has a glass doorway leading from the sun porch into the house. Mia lies down outside the door much of the time. Ian likes to walk up to the door to laugh and giggle at Mia. He’ll stand there for several minutes just looking at Mia and smiling. It is really cute to see. They seem to get along very well as Mia pretty much ignores Ian.

I took this picture of Ian at the door but you can’t see Mia because of the lighting. But I do like the picture especially because of his reflection in the window.

You should certainly try to find the owner, but if you don't YOU MUST KEEP HER! She's adorable and already trained. Plus she chose you because she could sense what a kind, loving man you are. :)

Heck, I'm not even a dog person and I think she's cool!
