Conference Calls Gone Bad

So I was working at Lorree's and have a conference call for work. Keep in mind as you read this that it is with the entire department I work for. They are doing one of our quarterly reviews so I look at a PowerPoint presentation while I listen to the phone on mute. It is not the most exciting thing.

A little way into the presentation music starts playing in the background loud enough that we can barely hear the presenter. Apparently someone dialed in and put us all on hold. After a minute or so the music went away so I guess they either came back or hung up.

We all laughed and moved on.

The presentation continues with me half paying attention when this little quite voice comes on the phone saying "Hello Mimi". Uhhhhhh.... Ian calls his grandmother Mimi.... Oh no!!!!! I sprint into the living room and sure enough there is Ian holding the phone pretending to have a conversation with his grandmother. I charge him and grab the phone hanging up as fast as I can. Ian bursts into tears having no idea what is going on and I think a little startled to have me suddenly rush him like that. Even though I felt so bad for Ian I could not help but laugh very hard.

I have no idea what they rest of the group heard other than I am sure they heard me telling Lorree, "He is on my conference call" just as I was grabbing the phone.

I hope they laughed as much as we did.

Kids do silly things. It probably made the meeting better because from what I hear meetings are not fun. Although I am not sure if that is true because I have not had a real job yet and maybe meetings are fun and everone is lieing to me to keep the fun for themselves.
