Bittersweet

So this weekend I gave up my cat, Minx, who has been my companion for about five years. Lorree is very allergic to cats so Minx has been living with Todd for the past year. I should have found him another home long ago but kept putting it off. Fortunately Lorree’s cousin Sean agreed to take him in on a trial basis as he has another cat and wants to make sure they get along before fully committing.

Part of me is very sad to give Minx up. He has been a comforting companion over the years; a presence in my home life when no one else was around. On the other hand I have not been able to spend much time with him for a while now and he needed attention. So I am sad to see him go but happy that he will be able to finally get the attention he deserves.

Early reports sound good so I am hopeful. Sean is a good person and will take good care of Minx. And I guess I can always go visit. :)
