I propose a new Blogger rule

This post is aimed squarely at my friends who blog and specifically those listed to the right. I wish more of my friends blogged and if this rule works I might greatly expand the list to the right.

I think that anytime one of you travels you mush blog about it. The rule is below but first here are the guidelines/clarifications to help make the rule more precise.

1) We’ll define travel, a trip, as going further than 180 miles away from home and/or for more than an over night stay. I am not saying that nothing interesting can happen in closer and/or short trips but we have to draw the line somewhere.

2) There should be a time limit on how long you can take to Blog about the adventure. Obviously you need time to get back in the swing of your normal life or in Robert's and my case time to recover. So I am thinking that you should have a maximum of 48hours from the time you get home to the time you Blog.

3) The blog must consist of actually telling about the trip and not just a picture and comment about that picture only. You don't have to go into minute detail; a nice description of what was done and seen and how you felt about the trip will suffice. Photos are optional.

4) Trips to Vegas are exempt from this unless it actually is for business. Any trip to New Jersey should never be mentioned either.

The Rule: If you go on a trip and don't Blog sufficiently about the trip within 48 hours of your return then you must buy everyone on the list to the right a Guinness. (Or another drink as they prefer.)

There is an out. If you feel that for some reason you can not meet this rule then you must enter a short blog on your site explaining why you can not do it. We will then vote via comments whether or not you have given a good enough reason and do not have to buy drinks. However keep in mind that I like Guinness so short of death I am pretty much always going to vote the reason not good enough. And by death I mean your own death not a relative's, friend's or pet's death.

So by my calculation Rex, Jilian, Monica and Robert all owe me a Guinness.

Oh and one addendum to the rule, since I thought of it I am exempt. :)

haha - too funny! I'll buy you a Guinness ;)

I'll add New Orleans trips should not be blogged about either ;)

I too will buy you a Guinness, but I do not agree to the Joel exemption that you proposed. Also, I propose another rule - when several of us are traveling together, the last person in the party to blog about the trip has to buy the other travelers a Guinness.

I like it. I vote to ammend the rule with RMs suggestion. My 2cents:

1)48 hours is too short. How about something more relative, like within 24 hours of unpacking, or 48 hours starting from the morning after your return.

2)If someone owes you 2 Guinesses, you can upgrade to 1 car bomb.

Hmm, since I just rerad this I now have 48 hours to blog about my trip? I vote for 72 hours and I don't really drink Guiness (*GASP*) so you'd have to buy me something else.

And Joel, nice rule, but you are not exempt.
